Monmouth County Clerk Installed as New COANJ President

Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon was installed as the new President of COANJ at a ceremony conducted in Mercer county.  Other COANJ Officers for 2021-2022 were also sworn into office including Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy as Vice President, Morris County Surrogate Heather J. Darling as Secretary and Cape May Surrogate Dean R. Marcolongo as Treasurer.  Section Chiefs for 2021-2022 are Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter for the County Clerks & Registers; Morris County Surrogate Heather J. Darling for the Surrogates and Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton for the Sheriffs.  Congressman Christopher H. Smith and Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker were recognized as COANJ Legislators of the Year at the Annual Officer Installation Dinner.  Various COANJ members were recognized as recipients of awards for their outstanding and dedicated service to COANJ.  The 2020 Award winners were Gil C. Job Award to Cape May County Surrogate Dean R. Marcolongo and Mercer County Deputy Clerk Walker M. Worthy, Jr., received the Rita Rosenberg Award.  2021 Awards were Essex County Clerk Christopher J. Durkin – Gil C. Job Award and Camden County Deputy Surrogate Cheryl Austin the Rita Rosenberg Award.
